Insurance

A Certificate of Insurance must be issued as follows:

  1. Commercial General Liability insurance with limits of not less than $1,000,000 per occurrence, written on an occurrence basis, including contractual liability coverage.  The Pennsylvania State University must be shown as an Additional Insured.
  2. Commercial Auto Liability insurance with limits of not less than $5,000,000 per occurrence.
  3. Statutory Workers’ Compensation; Employer’s Liability insurance with limits of not less than $500,000 for each subcategory of coverage.

Company must comply with the Legal Notice for Motorcoach Operations.  A review is made on the SAFER website.

Any Certificate of Insurance limited to a specific event or date is not acceptable.

By submitting an insurance certificate to be included on this University’s Accepted list, Company acknowledges that it has read University Policy AD72 and will ensure that its employees, subcontractor employees and volunteers (“Company Representatives”) who will work on University premises are aware of the applicable reporting provisions which require Company Representatives who have a reasonable suspicion of child abuse, as defined by Pennsylvania law, to make a report as outlined in the policy.

D)The Pennsylvania State University must be shown as an Additional Insured. NOTE: If the Certificate includes a second page with the standard ACORD language that shows two paragraphs under the heading "IMPORTANT" followed by a paragraph labeled "DISCLAIMER", a copy of the ENDORSEMENT must be attached.

F) The certificate should provide for thirty day (30) notice of cancellation.

 

NOTES:

  1. Acceptance will be for all locations and operations of the University.
  2. Charter bus companies that have met our insurance requirements will be listed to as a bus supplier
  3. In order for the charter bus company to remain in our listing, a new Certificate of Insurance must be supplied to The Risk Management Office whenever the insurance is renewed, which normally occurs on an annual basis. The University will not contact the bus company before deleting it from the listing due to an expired certificate.
  4. Any notice from the Insurance Company that bus company insurance has been cancelled for any reason will result in the deletion from the listing.
  5. Please email certificate of insurance to [email protected] instead of mailing the insurance certificate.
  6. IMPORTANT NOTE: All Suppliers doing business with Penn State University must be registered within SIMBA to be paid. See the Become a Supplier page for details on how to register. This is a separate and additional process to the requirements to be placed on the Vendor Lists on this site.
