Prepare to submit a contract for review by completing the considerations below for non-embedded travel.

Non-credit travel to a restricted location must be requested by a Restricted Travel Petition as part of creating Group Travel request in the Global Safety Network (GSN)

Supplier must maintain and submit evidence of the following coverages:
- U.S.-based supplier = $3 million general liability, $1 million auto*, + worker's compensation insurance
- Offshore supplier = $2 million general liability + $1 million auto*

*Unnecessary if the supplier isn't directly providing or subcontracting auto services.

Trip leader emails Risk Management (Jared Wise at [email protected]) with the following:

What level of insurance does the supplier have that does not meet the standard insurance requirements for international trips?
Number of participants going on the program. Will all participants be students?
Are there homestays?
Do any Penn State employees serving program leaders have previous experience in the host country(ies)?
- If yes, provide details.
Select the level of service provided by the supplier.
- Only one minor service component offered by the partner does not total more than one day (Does not include transportation.)
- No more than three minor service components are provided by the partner.  (Transportation provided is only for one discreet overnight trip.)
- More than three service components provided by the partner, including multiple private transportation events (e.g., not public transportation)
- A significant majority of the program elements provided by the partner, including multiple private transportation events (e.g., not public transportation)
- The vast majority of program elements provided by the partner - including multiple private transportation events - the program could not function or find alternative services
